La Catrina
This project draws inspiration from the Day of the Dead, a holiday usually observed on November 1 and 2. It involves remembering loved ones with sugar skulls, orange flowers, setting up home altars with their favorite foods and drinks, and bringing these offerings to their graves.
I aimed to design a character that embodies the essence of the holiday in a creative and stylish way, utilizing vibrant hues and elements signifying the day when people unite to honor their dear ones.
Below is the detailed step-by-step process outlining how this project was conceived and developed, beginning with the creation of 2D concept art and progressing seamlessly into the realm of 3D design.
Software used was ZBrush, Maya, Marvelous Designer and Photoshop.
